What does the organisation do?
RICS is the world’s leading qualification when it comes to professional standards in land, property and construction. What is the opportunity?
You will be part of a committee which consists of both Members and Non-Members, appointed to hear regulatory cases in accordance with Rules made by the Regulatory Board.
This is to ensure that:
Hearings held are open and transparent in line with RICS Rules
The public interest is fairly represented
Proportionate decisions are made
RICS demonstrate commitment to Regulatory and Nolan principles
What competencies do you need?
You must be of the highest integrity and possess sound knowledge of best practice in professional regulation. You will have a good understanding of RICSs’ public interest role. Enjoy engaging in a decision making process, evaluating facts of a case and interpret them to conclude with a fair outcome.
You must be able to demonstrate the following:
An analytical ability
Strong communication skills
The ability to provide a constructive independent view
That you are a good team player, within a diverse group of individuals
Have a strong sense of justice and maintenance of high standards
Previous Committee experience (preferable)
You must be available for a minimum of 6 days a year which will include attendance at training sessions.
