What does the organisation do?
Sustrans is the UK's leading sustainable transport charity. Our vision is a world in which people choose to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment. Every day we are working on practical, innovative ways of dealing with the transport challenges that affect us all.
Sustrans aims to:
reduce the environmental and resource impacts of transport
enable people to choose active travel more often
provide car-free access to essential local services
turn streets and public spaces into places for people to enjoy.
We work in three ways to achieve these aims:
we create public space focussed on access not mobility
we provide information and work directly with people to bring about behaviour change
we influence government policy by demonstrating that it is possible to change people's behaviour and by measuring the benefit of our work in terms of health, environment, quality of life and value for money.
What is the opportunity?
We are looking for a dynamic individual to lead the Sustrans Cymru Advisory Board. The successful candidate will work with the National Director to influence the sustainable transport agenda in Wales and advise the Welsh Senior Management team on implementing the national strategy.
What competencies do you need?
Chair meetings of the Board after developing the agenda.
Advance the strategic priorities of Sustrans Cymru
Work closely with the National Director to monitor the Sustrans Cymru strategy and identity opportunities to develop it
Assist in building and maintaining strategic relationships
