What does the organisation do?
engage (The National Association for Gallery Education) is a membership organisation representing gallery, art and education professionals in the UK and in 15 countries worldwide.
engage promotes access to, enjoyment and understanding of the visual arts through gallery education.
What is the opportunity?
engage is currently seeking a treasurer and two new Board Members.
What competencies do you need?
A Treasurer with financial, governance and legal experience and expertise.
The role of the Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the organisation's affairs and ensure its financial viability in line with good practice and in accordance with the governing document and legal requirements. He/she will ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained and report regularly to the board on the above.
We seek a CCAB qualified accountant (or equivalent) with experience in the arts and charity sectors and enthusiasm for and commitment to the visual arts.
Up to two Board members with experience and expertise in the following areas.
• Arts and charity fundraising
• Statutory education, particularly relating to the visual arts
• PR and marketing in the visual arts
The role of engage Board members is to ensure the organisation functions within the legal and financial requirements of a company and charitable organisation and to be responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of engage.
We seek experienced professionals who possess enthusiasm for and commitment to the visual arts and are willing to contribute by using their experience and expertise to support engage.
