What struck you most about the programme?
The presentations and the speakers were exceptional. The shared questions and decisions facing the participants was key to the programme and the benefits I gained from it.
What was the highlight of the programme for you?
“The openness of the participants made the activities and the discussions were particularly valuable. We were all in a similar position, looking for something new in our careers. The ability to share hopes and fears and personal experiences on What Next? provided us all with a lot of support.”
Can you give an example of a measurable benefit to your organisation?
When you are considering a career change, you tend to focus on what you’ve done rather than what you can do, but What Next? made me think about the subconscious skills which I had used previously and wanted to develop even further.
Can you give an example of a measurable benefit to your community?
We all felt that as a result of the things that we learnt and the people that we were able to talk to, we went away with a different, better informed view of what was possible and we reconsidered the previous plans and ideas that we had.
Can you give an example of something you do differently as a result of the programme?
Follow up sessions after the end of the course have been particularly beneficial as they have allowed me to share and discuss individual developments and experiences as well as providing a sounding board to formulate new ideas and plans.
What impact did the programme have for your personality?
It led me to question my ideas about what I was going to move on to next in my career, and as a result I changed the direction that I was going to take. I rethought what I was going to do and ended up in a different place because of this. The programme made me think differently, refocus and change direction.
