I have spent the past years working as a secondary school teacher in a technical college. Being a teacher has been an exciting challenge, and has given me the insight, leadership and decision-making skills needed to guide my students in their journey towards adulthood. I have very much enjoyed taking a leading role in their personal and intellectual development. The joy of watching my students grow has also fostered in me a real desire to constantly improve myself and work towards new and exciting goals. My job requires me to put together new courses, and I work hard to attend training programs - in Damascus and sometimes abroad - to develop my knowledge, in order to give back more to my students. This hard work made me a motivated trainer and an active participant in class discussions

I am going to learn to surf this year, in spite of feeling scared, wondering if I'm too old and getting the odd bit of abuse from men. On the 10th I got myself out in some pretty choppy waves at Tamarama (the beach where I'm a lifesaver). I got a bit mangled and had a couple of scary moments, but had fun overall.
I've never made me having fun a priority... and this year I will:-)

Our little community development project in St michaels Estate offer local education to women, healthand social programmes to senior citizens
after school help to 60 children suffering educational disadvantage also a service to women experiencing violence and abuse a community response and we are on the fore front of the failed Regeneration of St Michaels Estate. There is much to do to try and keep our valuable

Book flights to Egypt for my business partner and me, as the next step in our interest in the area. We want to create a manufacturing business on the Sinai peninsula, as part of a movement to enable the post-Arab Spring Egypt to gain valuable inward investment that will strengthen its position for the future.
I have not been to Egypt and have so far trusted my partner's view. Booking flights on 10/10 and going there myself in early November will be a real eye-opener!

Spend the day and evening in meditation.
I have been practicing for a little while but only recently have I tried to set a whole day aside to focus on meditation.
It is very challenging nowadays to find time simply to stop and take rest from not only all our activities of work, family and social life but also from ourselves and our incessant mental activities.
I have found that in making that time, the capacity to embrace and more deeply experience all the other aspects of life are greatly enriched. Simply put I have found that an organised mind capable of sustained concentration and mindfulness leads to an organised and sustainable life. _/\_
